Written safety programs

Programs should reflect the work—not merely pass a review.

ICCP provides written-program review, gap analysis, and development under direct supervision of Patrick Ard, CSP. The objective is documentation that addresses applicable requirements and accurately represents how the contractor performs work.

The difference

Generic paperwork creates its own risk.

A written program may be reviewed during prequalification, but the contractor is ultimately responsible for implementing what the program says. Language copied from an unrelated company can create obligations the contractor cannot support or describe controls that do not exist.

ICCP begins with the contractor’s scope, hazards, workforce, equipment, and actual procedures before developing or revising documents.

The process requires contractor input

  • Describe the work and work environments
  • Identify equipment, hazards, and existing controls
  • Provide current programs and relevant records
  • Review drafts for operational accuracy
  • Accept responsibility for implementation and maintenance

The work

Review, analyze, develop, and confirm.

The specific programs required depend on contractor operations, applicable requirements, and the covered platform or hiring-client connection.

Program Review

Evaluate existing written programs against visible requirements and the contractor’s stated operations.

Gap Analysis

Identify missing topics, unclear responsibilities, conflicting language, and information requiring contractor confirmation.

Program Development

Develop needed documents within scope and provide electronic copies of the submitted programs to the contractor.

Included in Initial Setup

Written-program review, gap analysis, and development of programs reasonably needed for the covered platform and one hiring-client connection are included in the initial prequalification scope, starting at $1,500.

Separate Projects

Broader safety-management systems, training delivery, field implementation, site-specific procedures, additional platforms, and work unrelated to the agreed prequalification scope may require a separate quote.

Contractor responsibility: The contractor must ensure every submitted program accurately represents how work is performed. Written documents cannot be treated as generic paperwork or as a substitute for training, implementation, supervision, and verification in the field.

Professional review

Address the gap without losing sight of the work.

Send ICCP the returned requirement or describe the program need. We will identify the information needed from your company before confirming scope.
